This week (2) we looked at the prehistory of social networks. We looked at how our ancestors survived with the use of networking and by making friends that were not blood related. Unlike other groups that did not survive the test of time, the ancestors of modern humans cooperated with others, creating a connection with each other which in turn encouraged the open transmission of information and therefore allowing them to learn and grow into more efficent group of people. This could suggest that we as modern day humans might have biological tendencies towards networking and hence our technology does too.
In week 3 we looked at social networking sites, what they are, what makes them successful and how they work.
